There are several ways to configure a new email account in Microsoft Outlook 2013. For users who are authenticating against UOA the setup process should be pretty automatic, but in situations were a user is not authenticating against UOA manual setup is needed.
One of the options is as follow..
For people logging into UOA Outlook 2013 should configure itself by just opening Outlook 2013 and allowing it to configure itself, without the need for user intervention. If you are setting up Outlook 2013 in other situations you may have to set it up at least partially using manually and can follow the steps below.
Go to the Mail Control Panel in Control Panels and open it.
select Add to create a mail profile, give it a suitable name and click OK. You will probably want to to choose Always use this profile.
if you are logging into an account with UOA authentication and using your upi for your account name, with Luck your email account will automatically configure itself.
If your account does not auto configure correctly select Manual setup or additional server types.
Choose Microsoft Exchange Server or Compatible Service for the account type.
The client will try and populate your User Name but you will probably have to add the server casarray.uoa.auckland.ac.nz and click Check Name you may need to change the User Name if it is not able to find your email account. Click on More Settings and look to see what is set up, the settings below are what was automatically set by Outlook 2013 for my account.
Your email account should now be set up click Finished to close the setup.
